My home away from home – and favourite skiing hideaway!
Being in the travel business myself I get around quite a bit throughout the year. But when I arrive at the "Post" I feel at home from the very first moment. The Post Hotel & Spa - nestled in a wonderful landscape is beyond excellence in every single way: stylishly decorated rooms at affordable rates, a spectacular wine cellar leaving no desires open, an exquisite "à la carte" Restaurant at the highest level, a sophisticated SPA and an overall extremely friendly and professional staff.
I have recommended several thousand Swiss & European skiers and riders over the past 15 years to the Post Hotel & Spa and without exception they all fall in love with this unique Hotel, which is one of a kind worldwide! I have not yet found a similar hotel, where you can live the moment with style yet at the same time you can enjoy a great stay with your children at ease! This is one of the many reasons why my family has been spending our winter holidays over here for the past years. When we leave we feel saddened but at the same time we know we can look forward to our next visit with the lovely Post Hotel family. If you haven't stayed here yet, you’ve missed out on a great experience!

The impact and legacy of André Schwarz, proprietor, the father of modern Canadian ski technique.
Lake Louise has been the setting for mountain sports for over a hundred years but few people know that the blueprint for modern skiing in Canada was drafted in the Post Hotel. André Schwarz, proprietor of the Post, first made his mark in Lake Louise as an instructor and later as Ski School Director. His unique insight and passion for the sport soon energized the Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance as Schwarz became Technical Committee Chairman, Coach of the Interski Team and international delegate for ski instruction. The Post Hotel became the epicenter of learning where Schwarz’s leadership and vision totally modernized Canadian skiing. In a few years the fundamental doctrine of Canadian ski technique was redesigned and the ground-breaking Movement and Motion manual was written. The technical principles first described in that manual form the foundation of Canadian ski technique and teaching methodology to this day.
As a result, for many skiers the Post Hotel has become synonymous with modern ski technique. Although the Post has developed into a world-class retreat for winter sports lovers, it’s clear that skiing is still André’s first love. That enthusiasm is seen every day in the winter where Schwarz skis at every opportunity and guests can experience the ambiance (and sometimes ski tips) from the legend himself.
